Not In This Poem

I can't put it in words:
these fresh-chopped,
parcelled hieroglyphics
can't represent a flow.

This stuttered transmission
is not what I'm thinking,
is not what you're reading,
is not my remission.

I can't tell you
with my eyes.

My expression can't
give it away:
'tis not in the power of
lips to express,
nor touch to convey
my inward digress.
