21st Century Survival Kit

Side by side we stumble
in our insulation machines.
Obstacles never upset us
with time-released endocrines.

With built-in foil caps
vibrations don't scare us:
if our focus should lapse
no-one can ensnare us.

The visor will clamp down
and cut off the light
if a tear or a frown
should come into sight.

And if anyone ever asks us
if we're happy or sad or relieved,
the headphones cut off the sound
and ensure we're never aggrieved.
