Description Of A Tiger

A tie-die
in graphite and amber,
rippled by steel bands of muscle,
he pads, velvet through the jungle.

Searchlight eyes
Arrest
every movement in the undergrowth:
he is sprung to pounce.

They say he could break
a mans back
with a swat.

His demeanour be-littles it:
he could break a mans courage
with a glance.
